Negh'var Class      Battle-Cruiser      Klingon Empire

COMMENTS:  Even more than the Vor'cha, the Negh'var is the apex of Klingon military starship technology.  I liken it to the Federation's Sovereign Class, and have built its stats along these lines.  Scale comparisons are somewhat difficult, as we see several different shots of several different variants of this class throughout the later seasons of ST:DS9, some of which make the Negh'var appear truly colossal, bigger than the D'deridex, bigger again still than the Dominion Jem'hadar battleship.  I've gone with my conservative instincts and assumed the Negh'var is about as long as a Sovereign and about as wide as the Galaxy Class, with stats that make it a rough equal to the Sovereign in combat capability, though with the confounding factor of the 'main guns.'  For gaming purposes I have treated the Negh'var as a technological child of the older Vor'cha, so I've evolved much of the Vor'cha weaponry design into the truly impressive Negh'var.  Yes, I know, the Negh'var, the Sovereign, and especially the Jem'hadar battleship all violate my rule regarding ridiculously powerful überships, but if I under-gun and under-power these ships, I risk shortchanging them in terms of matching their prowess as seen on the screen.

*   Denotes completely hypothetical model number and stats, devised by Brad R. Torgersen.
**  The 'main guns' on the Negh'var are an upgraded version of the weapon seen on the Vor'cha.  The power-to-damage ratio for the KKDT-X2 is an improved 1/3, meaning for every point of energy poured into the device, the damage yielded is magnified by a factor of three.  A ten point energizing yields 30 points of damage.  Twenty points yields 60 in damage.  The maximum is 30 points of energy for a total of 90 points damage.  (We first saw these powerful weapons in use during the initial attack on Deep Space Nine by Klingon forces in DS9 season four; they are mounted on hardpoints at the front of the two ventral structures slung beneath the mail hull.)
